PRESS RELEASE: Combination of materials helps Hunter Douglas create bespoke solution

The stunning new £35m Hengrove Leisure Centre, Bristol was opened in February. Boasting ten lanes and a moveable floor, the Olympic sized swimming pool was built to a high specification.

The sound proofing properties of the Hunter Douglas linear wood panels were ideal for this application. Panels are provided with an acoustic felt which is glued at the top of the joint. The open panel system chosen for the swimming pool ensures that the ceiling retains the required linear appearance whilst still offering a high degree of sound absorption.

The refurbishment also includes the Hunter Douglas exterior grade linear aluminium system. Panels are made to measure, with 4,000 m2 of the 84R on SL4 Stringer system in white was specified at Hengrove.
